A nine-hole oasis just off I-40 — halfway between Amarillo and the New Mexico line, where the high plains flatten out and the sunsets run forever.

The Course
Oldham County Country Club is a nine-hole course on the edge of Vega, Texas — right off Interstate 40 in the heart of the panhandle. It’s an unexpected green space on the high plains, maintained with care by a dedicated group of local members.
The layout is straightforward and walkable, with wide fairways and a few strategically placed bunkers. Wind is the primary defense here — the panhandle breezes rarely let up and can turn a par into a challenge in a hurry.
